Office Overview
Herbert Smith London is based in stunning offices above Liverpool Street Station, in the heart of the Broadgate complex. It contains a number of smart bars and restaurants, summer seating areas, a croquet lawn in the summer, an ice rink in the winter, numerous coffee shops and access to boutiques.
We are also within a very easy stroll of the Shoreditch area, historic Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane, renowned for the best and cheapest curries in London. Our local bar, Davys, is extremely popular and is located right opposite the entrance to Exchange House.
There is plenty of socialising inside the firm as well as in the bars and pubs in the area. There are clubs for virtually every sport imaginable (from broomball to chess), language classes, an extremely popular wine-tasting club, quiz nights and an award-winning drama group. The firm has a huge Christmas party for all staff every year.
Particularly popular is our subsidised membership of Holmes Place leisure club. Five minutes round the corner from the office, it has a swimming pool, steam rooms and sauna, as well as free classes and large multi-gym facilities.
How we are structured
We have three major global practice areas: corporate, finance and litigation.
Working closely with and across these practices are four specialist groups ¡V real estate, EU & competition, IP and employment. In addition we have a number of cross-practice groups focused on industry sectors or particular cross-practice disciplines.
An Executive Committee chaired by our Senior Partner is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm. Its work is overseen by our LLP Council. |
