Shipley Solicitors Limited is a niche IP/IT practice which also undertakes general commercial work.
Based at the Liverpool Science Park, Shipley represents the interests of some of the leading creative businesses in the region and has many clients across the UK. The practice has grown steadily over the last two and a half years and now employs eight staff with growth plans to double in size over the next 12 months.
The majority of Shipley’s work is negotiating and drafting agreements, primarily relating to the exploitation of IP for businesses such as software developers, new media, marketing agencies, R&D companies, travel companies and design consultancies. Most of this work is non-contentious but an increasing amount of litigious work is being undertaken.
The company’s novel, relaxed and innovative way of interacting with individuals and businesses employing its services, as well as its core values of honesty, integrity and respect, have yielded long-term loyalty from its clients who Shipley view as partners rather than customers.
