Founded in September 2004, Walton & Co is a niche solicitors practice based upon the long experience of 4 fee earners, specialising solely in planning, compulsory purchase/ compensation, highways and administrative law – competing size for size with many of the planning departments of the larger firms in Leeds.

We are dedicated to meeting our clients’ needs and have an eye for detail but always maintain an overriding common sense approach. We pride ourselves on delivery of commercially workable planning permissions by the most cost effective and quickest means. This necessarily also means advising upon and delivery of associated infrastructure agreements and other statutory consents and orders.
Advising upon major infrastructure projects and more complicated negotiations is our forte but we are experienced in all aspects of planning law and policy. In addition, a significant part of our practice is advising upon highway and transportation matters, which may often form pre-conditions to the commencement of development. Compulsory purchase law and compensation form an increasing proportion of our work, where we often work with clients’ retained property lawyers and surveyors.
We will not be reluctant to use the Courts or Public Inquiries in our clients’ best interests but we believe that future success within the planning system lies in preparation, consultation and negotiation. Most of us have worked within both the public and private sectors and we have clients in each sector. |
