Wilsons Solicitors is a firm started by John Wilson all on his own in 1991.
It is a firm that reflects his belief that the legal profession needs to be dragged, screaming and kicking if necessary, into the 21st century where the rest of humanity lives. If you currently work for a firm that has been there for a million years and is going to be there for another million years (or so it thinks) and you are happy there, good for you. We want to recruit the people who think the legal profession needs a kick up the backside.
John is the author of the very successful 'Legal Eye' column in the Yorkshire Evening Post, where he expounds his pungent and incisive views on matters legal for all the world to read. These columns are collected together on our website, lawoffice.co.uk.
The firm reflects his style. No big posh office blocks in the city centre, just homely little offices in the suburbs (that's where the clients are!). No crooks, we only act for nice people. No legal aid, that's just a massive scam on the taxpayer. If someone needs help and can't afford it we will help them for nothing. No shutting up shop at 5pm either, our main office opens until 8pm 5 days a week and weekends too, all covered on a rota basis. No self-preening and no busting a gut to get into the latest whizzy legal feelgood directory. Just good old fashioned legal practice, putting clients first.
John's formula works, the firm has expanded fivefold in five years. We are constantly on the lookout for new talent to join us. You don't have to be Mr Slick, few of us are (and John would not like the competition!). You just need to share our belief in good old fashioned service to clients.

We are certified 'Investors in People' and we have our ISO 9001. We do not have LEXCEL because John likes to keep away from anything to do with the Law Society. We have a very positive and innovative approach to recruitment and training and development, and a long record of spotting talent, bringing it in and bringing it out. Maybe if your career is not as fulfilling or successful as you thought it would be, you need to come to us? Part time or flexible working is a particular specialism of ours too.
