The partnership between Clifford Chance and Singapore-based legal firm Wong Partnership is to come to an end, it has emerged.
Both firms have agreed to terminate their joint partnership after six years in order to "pursue separate strategic initiatives".
Managing partner for Clifford chance David Childs stated that the joint venture with the Singaporean firm had been "productive".
"Both firms now agree the time is right to review the way forward for our respective businesses," he explained.
The agreement is set to end on April 30th 2009, with senior partner for Wong Partnership Alvin Yeo adding that his firm plans to continue its regional drive as is strives to become one of Singapore's "premier practices".
Clifford Chance recently announced its Singapore office will become home to a new legal team for its Indian clients, providing advice on transactions in capital markets.
The team will be led by senior partner at the company Edward Bradley, who will relocate from London in January.
