Irwin Mitchell has announced John Pickering as its new national managing partner.
Mr Pickering will succeed Howard Culley, who is set to step down from the position at the end of April next year.
Currently the national head of the firm's personal injury division, Mr Pickering will leave his post - which he has held for 20 years - and take up the new role on May 1st 2009.
"I am delighted to have been elected to become the firm's new national managing partner," he remarked.
"These are challenging times but one of the great strengths of Irwin Mitchell is its ability to identify and maximise opportunities," he added, noting that he aims to build on the work carried out by outgoing boss Howard Culley.
Latham & Watkins recently appointed six new partners to its London office as part of a global move, which saw the company add to its offices in, among other locations, Los Angeles, New York and Singapore.
