Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has announced its latest partner promotions, with two of its London-based lawyers achieving partner status.

Ian Barratt and Sinead O'Shea have both achieved partner status as a result of the anouncements, which come into effect in January of next year.

Mr Barratt - who specialises in banking, credit and acquisition finance and joined the firm in 2002 - will remain in the London office, while Ms O'Shea is to be relocated to the company's Hong Kong office where she will specialise in the same fields.

A further three promotions were made by the US firm, with Joshua Levine and Nancy Mehlman joining the organisation's New York branch, while Shaolin Luo has achieved promotion at its Beijing base.

Mayer Brown recently appointed 27 partners to its global network of offices, including James Fielden and Andrew McGahey, who have both been promoted to partners at the company's London office.
