The number of prospective employees, which could include those seeking legal jobs, expected to use technology such as videos and links to websites as part of their CVs is likely to increase, it has been suggested.
Helen Clarke, managing director of human resources firm Jaluch, told Online Recruitment that so-called 3D CVs will become more popular as competition for jobs intensifies.
"It's a great way of standing out from the field in what is becoming an ever more competitive market," she told the website.
However, Ms Clarke warned that employers must ensure they lay out strict criteria for their candidates and keep records of their recruitment decisions so as not to fall foul of accusations of discrimination against race or gender.
Meanwhile, firms have been advised to incorporate more technology into their operations by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).
Managing director of the BCC John Dunsmure said businesses should work "harder and smarter" during the recession.
