Herbert Smith has announced the formation of new legal jobs in the Asia region.
Two regional management roles have been created by the company as it continues the redevelopment of its international management structure.
The new position of greater China managing partner has been established by the firm and will be taken by Andrew Tortishell, who is currently the company's Hong Kong managing partner.
He will oversee the firm's strategy in its Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai offices while Austin Sweeney, who is based in the company's Singapore office, will become south-east Asia managing partner and be responsible for development in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
Both will report to head of Asia Ashley Alder, who described the appointments as an "important step forward".
"Cross-office collaboration across our Asia network on client and business development activities is increasing," he explained, noting that the company is building pan-Asian relationships with its clients.
Last month Herbert Smith appointed a new competition specialist at its Paris office, with Sergio Sorinas taking the role.
