Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has revealed that it is welcoming back Edward Greene to the firm.
Mr Greene originally joined Cleary Gottlieb in 1982 and was a partner before switching to Citigroup 22 years later.
But the international law firm has announced that he will be returning next month and will be based in the New York office, where he will focus on a range of subjects including securities, corporate governance and financial services reform.
Managing partner Mark Walker said he is "thrilled" by the decision, adding: "The firm is very excited about Ed's return and we look forward to working together to provide our clients with the cutting-edge legal advice they have come to expect."
The appointment takes the firm's total number of worldwide partners to 197.
Earlier this week Nabarro announced former Dechart employee Ciaran Carvalho had joined the firm's real estate practice as a partner.
