- The Project Finance Team representing Compagnie Générale des Eaux and Marubeni Corporation for the Chengdu Water Plant Project in the People's Republic of China, awarded Asia Law Deal of the Year 1999.
As an English lawyer working in Paris, for example, you will have the best of both worlds. You will often be asked to work on English law deals but will also gain experience of French law and gain a second qualification as an Avocat à la Cour. The work will be varied and challenging while the package will be highly competitive internationally and will include a relocation allowance. And there will be opportunities for secondments to our other offices.
Who are we looking for? You will have a strong academic background, a good grounding in the law and be ready and prepared to try something different that will significantly enhance your career prospects. As an expanding law firm, partnership is a real possibility. You will, if you wish to work in the Paris office, have knowledge of the French language but you do not necessarily need to be fluent. An English partner, for example, joined with only 'A' level French as background but with a strong commitment to learn and is now fluent and called to the Paris Bar.
