Our client, a global bio farmer company, are looking for a patent administrator to work in house to provide administrative support to all members of the IP group.
A successful patent administrator will liaise with external patent agencies and also with other departments, in particular Legal, Research & Development, Business Development, and Finance, to facilitate the smooth running of the IP Department.
Patent administrator duties:
• Filing national, regional and international patent applications
• Monitoring due dates.
• Updating and maintaining patents database, generally on own initiative
• Working autonomously to ensure timely payment of patent renewals.
• Preparing monthly accruals on own initiative, and liaising with Finance as necessary
• Collating data for the annual budget
• Opening and distributing post
• Maintaining paper files
• Arranging for translations of patent texts, usually on own initiative
• Conducting and arranging for patent searches following discussion with responsible attorney
• Coding and processing invoices
• Managing deposit accounts at GB & EPO patent offices with minimal supervision
• Preparing presentation material
• Organising meetings
• Conducting patent watches unaided after discussion with responsible attorney
