Our Claims Solutions Team advises insurers and corporate clients in their defence of claims relating to fatal accidents, catastrophic injuries, rehabilitation, employer liability, product liability, sports injuries, aviation injuries, occupational stress, repetitive strain, occupational cancers, new diseases, noise- induced hearing loss and severe road traffic accidents. Services cover both high value specialist claims and smaller, less complex ones. In addition to this, the team provides advice on fraudulent claims and coverage disputes.

The Role

This role will be based within the large loss team assisting an associate with the handling/running of their EL, PL, and RTA personal injury caseload (normal case values of between 100-500k).

Day to day responsibilities will include:

• drafting legal documents, for example witness statements, allocation questionnaires, instructions to experts (medical and non medical), and instructions to counsel.
• conducting telephone applications/hearings, and attending conferences.
• updating client contacts on the progression of cases and generally interacting and building relationships with client contacts at all levels.
• updating management information and handling confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols.


The Person

• Paralegal/Legal Executive, with strong academic qualifications, and litigation experience.
• Able to provide commercially rounded advice to clients, to take initiative and view things from a business perspective.
• Flexible with an ability to adapt to change, both internally and in the context of clients’ businesses.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required together with the necessary confidence to attend Insurer and client sites for the purposes of training/investigation of claims and interviewing witnesses.
• Team player with a collegiate approach to knowledge sharing and problem solving.
