Currently we are looking to recruit a number of paralegals on permanent/fixed term contracts with the opportunity of flexible hours.

The closing date for these roles will be on Thursday 31st July, with anticipated interview dates of the 6th, 7th August, with a potential start date mid-August.
Core responsibilities

This role is for a paralegal to support a major client working in an existing team of Paralegals and Legal Executives and day to day responsibilities will include:

-Ordering searches (using Searchflow) and reviewing search results;
-Preparing/reviewing CPSE replies;
-General administration, including file set-up and conflict checks;
-Preparing and collating documents for title packs and reports on title;
-Financial administration including requesting payments and cheques and dealing with accounts queries; drafting completion statements
-Drafting and negotiating, under supervision, simple documents such as Licences;
-Preparing engrossments;
-General correspondence and basic progression of files for fee earners; scanning/copying correspondence and other documents/deeds;
-Land Registry applications and dealing with our Customer Team at the Land Registry to handle requisitions;
-Dealing with other completion and post-completion matters including drafting SDLT application forms, calculating SDLT payments and dealing with HMRC;
-Handle confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols.

Key skills

-Graduate in law or law related subject
-Experience in Commercial Property is not essential but would be advantageous as is an interest in this area
-Previous experience of working as a paralegal would be an advantage but is not essential
-An interest in telecoms is desirable-Experience of working in a target driven commercial environment would be an advantage.
-Excellent commercial awareness and an interest in broader business issues.
-Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients and colleagues on day to day issues.
Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage tasks within set timeframes.
-Excellent relationship and client handling skills. Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day issues.
- Able to demonstrate a reasonable level of self-sufficiency, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority.
-An ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to legal issues.
-Change oriented with a positive, flexible approach towards the implementation of new initiatives.
-Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
-Excellent IT skills, to include Word and Outlook.

Our Real Estate Team covers every aspect of commercial real estate work including planning and environmental, development, investment, asset management, funding, construction, landlord and tenant and dispute resolution. Clients include property management and development companies, health trusts and government bodies (local and central), owner occupiers and institutions, both in the UK and overseas.

This role will work within our Leeds Real Estate team, which consists of 4 Partners, 3 Associates, 3 Solicitors, 4 Legal Executives, 5 Paralegals, 2 Key Account Co-ordinators and 3 Secretaries. There are 3 transactional teams (public sector, asset management and major corporates) and estate litigation team.
