An exceptional role has arisen for a regulatory lawyer with a solid background in UK financial services and bank regulation to join the UK HQ of a fast growing and highly successful bank.
The successful candidate will provide both legal and strategic support as a key member of the legal team in a standalone position advising on regulatory agenda and developing and maintaining a robust regulatory compliance framework. The role will involve advising operational departments including: customer operations, savings, change, compliance, IT and new lending. The work will cover: horizon gathering activity, rule mapping, regulatory engagement and advisory work.
Duties will include: advising on forthcoming regulatory changes, training, managing the regulatory aspects of all bank-wide projects and working closely with the compliance function and with business stakeholders to understand the impact of regulation in practice. Central to the role is the management of good governance structures and mechanisms that meet the needs of the business within a regulatory environment.
To be considered for this pivotal role, candidates must have relevant technical skills and a regulatory background with sound knowledge of the FCA and PRA rulebooks, AML and data protection rules. Experience of advising UK Banks on prudential regulation will be an advantage.
Applicants must possess the ability to influence decisions at senior management level coupled with experience of handling detailed negotiations with customers and business partners. The candidate should demonstrate a pragmatic and commercial approach, relishing an opportunity to play an influential role working alongside the business.
Relevant technical skills coupled with an excellent academic record and a background from a City law firm or similar are essential.
