In-house Legal Counsel

Our client is a global company and a leader in its field. Due to a recent internal promotion, there is now a requirement for a 1-3 years' PQE Commercial Solicitor / In-house Legal Counsel to join the team in Middlesex. This role is easily commutable from London, Reading, Watford, Hemel and Surrey.

Reporting into the Legal Director, you will be responsible for advising the business on contract law and related commercial matters. This includes: advice related to the provision of services, including the tender process, negotiation of contracts and post contract interpretation; identifying potential areas of risk and liability, and advising on strategy for avoidance, minimization and/or mitigation; providing legal updates and training on recent legal developments; liaising and assisting in the management of external legal counsel; and facilitating the conclusion of transactions and other projects as necessary.

You will also have daily supervision for two recoveries assistants. You will ensure claims are commenced promptly and effectively to maximise bad debt recovery, and you will provide Credit Control with pre-litigation advice - monitoring court claims and assessing and instigating settlements.

As well as solid legal training and contracts experience, ideally from a leading law firm or in-house team, we are looking for individuals with a can-do attitude - a quality that will be paramount to your success in this role - and the ability to integrate into the business.
