Our client a global brand within the media sector is seeking a Legal Director for a 9-12 month maternity cover based in London.

You will provide legal support and advice to the business on a global basis, but primarily in Europe and Africa, in respect of deals for the digital distribution of the business' owned or controlled audio and audio-visual content.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

*Providing legal support and advice in respect of digital distribution deals
*Drafting and negotiating commercial terms with content aggregators and music service providers at a local, pan-European or global level
*Advising the business' affiliate companies in relation to deal proposals and negotiations based on company policies, guidelines and strategic objectives
*Liaising with the finance and operations teams to ensure that new partner integrations are completed in accordance with, and remain compliant with, required reporting commercial terms
*Drafting and negotiating premium brand deals where music content is made available as part of download redemption programmes or where embedded on devices, such as MP3 players or mobile phones
*Drafting and negotiating agreements with service providers, including payment collection services, advertising sales agencies and platform providers
*Overseeing workload of the team's Legal Assistant

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years PQE* and a firm knowledge and understanding of IP law. Digital distribution experience and a sound knowledge of music rights are essential.
