About the Role:

Due to continued growth,several new positions have arisen for Legal Counsel / In-house Solicitors to join our exceptional team of in-house Solicitors providing pragmatic legal advice on an ever expanding range of subjects within Asset Services.

Working for one of the UK’s largest corporations, you will provide in-house legal advice, guidance and counselling on a range of issues within one of our financial services division, working in partnership with relevant business units.

About Capita Asset Services:

Capita Asset Services (CAS) offers a range of services, principally across;Corporate solutions, Treasury solutions, Debt solutions, Shareholder solutions, Funds solutions and Private client solutions.

- Banking & Debt Solutions - provides a wide range of business outsourced operational functions to large corporations and financial services organisations.
- Shareholder Solutions -provides a wide range of business outsourced operational functions, including: Share registration, Share-plan management,Corporate actions, Investor relations and Share Dealing. 
- Treasury Solutions – delivering reliable, accurate and efficient back, middle and front office services to global customer covering; Cash & Liquidity management, Counterparty credit-risk and more.
- Corporate Solutions – providing a client focused service aimed at supporting, the incorporation, administration and management of corporate structures. 

What you will do:

As In-House Legal Counsel your duties will include;

• Reviewing non-standard terms of appointment and providing advice to business managers within the organisation;
• Drafting amendments to documents / contracts as well as bespoke agreements which promote the business interests of the Company;
• Negotiating with public and private sector clients as well as third party sub-consultants in order to limit and manage risk;
• Working with colleagues at all levels to promote and ensure that both legal and commercial policies are adhered to;
• Working with business managers to ensure that the legal terms for all new business are in the best interests of the Company;
• Advising internally on the application of the Companies and the client’s contractual duties and obligations.

Your experience will include:
-Qualified solicitor - eligible to work in England;
- Strong academic record and will be recently qualified or with upto two (2) years’ post-qualification experience (PQE); with experience in company and corporate law matters, having spent time at a leading city firm;
- Understanding or experience of Corporate / Commercial law practices. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a good comprehension of UK Companies act and Contract law.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have completed one or more of the following training seats; Debt Financing, Asset Finance, Commercial / Residential Property law or Corporate Law.
