Competitive package

This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic and truly global industrial engineering group as Legal Counsel (UK Business Law). Reporting to the Deputy Legal Counsel for the Group and part of a team of Legal Counsels, you will bring your support and expertise on UK contracts law when needed.

The Challenge:

  • With a strong focus on commercial implications for the business, you will support a variety of stakeholders within the UK subsidiaries of the group, from Project Managers to Managing Directors, providing essential strategic advice on £multimillion contracts.
  • You will take ownership of tender contracts under UK law, from their negotiation and in-depth analysis to amendments.
  • You will manage pre-litigation and litigation protocols (common law, arbitration), and follow up insurance claims.

The Candidate:

  • With a Law Degree specialising in UK Business Law, preferably taken in the UK, it is essential that you have significant experience as Legal Counsel for a UK-based company or practice.
  • Equally important is your experience of complex international contracts (eg construction contracts, EPC contracts), preferably from an industrial environment.
  • Having gained your experience supporting general, sales or project management teams in the commercial negotiations of contracts, you remain hands-on at all times whilst providing sound strategic advice on those agreements.
  • Bilingual French and English and based in Paris, you have a strong interest in business and commercial sense, able to understand the implications of solid support from the legal department throughout the organisation.

If you meet the above criteria and have a genuine ambition to develop your legal career with a recognised market leader, we would like to hear from you. Please submit your CV to our retained consultants CFR UK, quoting reference EM5614 and details of your salary package
