Casework Support Officer
£23,750 - £26,600
London
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is a newly created organisation that promotes fair competition, within and outside the UK, to support economic growth and protect the best interests of consumers and businesses. Offering responsive, accurate and reliable support to colleagues, you’ll be a key part of teams investigating cases of criminal and cartel activity, as well as having the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a real difference to UK society.
This crucial work centres around managing case files and undertaking a broad range of tasks (including handling evidence, creating schedules and court bundles); so we want to hear from people who can manage complex admin procedures efficiently, and who are very familiar with the legal framework in which we operate. We’ll also expect you to support, mentor and coach temporary paralegal staff as required.
Sound experience in a paralegal or legal casework support role is essential, as is the ability to
work under pressure and cope with a demanding workload. Knowledge of competition and/or criminal law processes, and of investigation casework, would be a significant asset. Finally, we’re looking for good communication and general office skills, as well as a proven ability to analyse complex documents, identify material issues, and draft concise reports.
Closing date for applications: 1 February 2015
We are an equal opportunities employer.
