Legal Counsel - Competition Law
Tetra Pak offers a truly challenging and highly international work environment for the right experienced and skilled legal counsel.
In this challenging and exciting position, you will provide expert advice in competition law to the entire Tetra Pak Group, counselling business and Legal Affairs colleagues. You will be part of the Tetra Pak Legal Affairs competition law expert team and will report to the Vice President Legal Affairs – Product Management and Commercial Operations.
The position is ideally based in Brussels, Lausanne, Stockholm or Lund.
Main responsibilities
- Drive competition law expertise in close collaboration with business management/colleagues and the Legal Affairs team within the Tetra Pak Group
- Counsel and provide competition law expert advice to legal colleagues and the business on major, complex and strategic matters and projects
- Provide training/knowledge sharing to legal as well as business colleagues as relevant
- Monitor with the assistance of outside counsel experts any changes of legislation and laws, analyse implications for the business and secure communication to business
- Prepare analysis/work to support recommendations to Top Management of Tetra Pak Group, provide expert advice for and participate to competition law forum/committees/management meetings
- Participate in setting up optimal processes within the legal function and within the group to secure adequate and timely involvement of subject matters experts in any relevant matters.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly skilled and professional individual with highest integrity, with a law degree from accredited law school with demonstrated superior academic records and current bar admission (unless now working as an in-house lawyer). LLM from renowned University or College of Europe and ability to practice in multiple jurisdictions is a plus. Trained in a reputable firm, you must have a minimum of 4 years post-qualified experience in advising business in competition law in multinational companies and/or in international law firms, including strong European competition law background and significant experience in dealing with competition authorities. You should also have a proven successful experience of counselling senior management.
This is a position in a fast paced environment with substantial work load, time pressure and management exposure, which requires fluent English (written and spoken) and extensive travelling abroad.
You possess strong opportunities/risks analysis and management skills together with strong business acumen. You are a pro-active and sharp analyst and structured thinker with excellent problem solving skills as well as superior advocacy skills.
These include the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate (orally and in writing), capability to think clearly and quickly under pressure, and composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interest.
