CONVEYANCING
Job Title: Paralegal / Conveyancing
Responsible to: Office Managing Partner
Role
Barnes & Partners have over four decades of experience, and over this time, have grown from a small firm in Enfield Town to one of North London’s most prominent Solicitor firms We are currently seeking a Conveyancing Paralegal for a permanent role in both our Stevenage and Enfield offices.
This is the perfect opportunity for a Conveyancing Paralegal to take the next step in their career within a busy office.
Working within a team, the successful Conveyancing Paralegal will be responsible for advising on all related conveyancing matters.
Role
The role is to provide direct support to the Department Head.
You are required to be self-motivated and able to organise your own workload with minimum supervision.
You are required to cope effectively in demanding circumstances, have good time management skills and adopt a flexible approach to work.
You are required to demonstrate persistence and commitment to completing tasks and objectives and must pay attention to detail and quality of work.
Demonstrate a commitment to improving work practices and support company plans and policies with the ability to build and maintain working relationships with others and as seen as approachable. Operates effectively as part of a team, and willing to offer help to all colleagues to ensure company success.
Main Responsibilities
- To provide written, telephone and office cost estimates to Prospective clients/ Introducers with a full breakdown of costs and disbursements as requested.
- To develop and maintain good client contact relationships and enhance the firm’s client base by effective liaison with existing clients.
- To use correct procedures and systems in order to manage cases effectively and in accordance with the firm’s standards and legal requirements.
- Assisting the Fee earners and or Partners by gathering information for cases and attending clients.
- Deal with research, document drafting and client interviews as per the Fee Earners and or Partners instructions.
- Preparation of correspondence and documents through typing and word processing.
- To administer day to day filing which includes the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the office manual.
- Preparation of mail for despatch.
To do all such things which are in the reasonable opinion of the firm, ancillary, necessary and conducive to the role and responsibilities.
