In House Solicitor (Financial Services)

This could be the right opportunity for you.  The Legal team provides legal advice on issues arising and affecting the IntegraFin Holdings Ltd group of companies (including: a broad base of equity and collectives work, offshore bond, tax and trust coverage together with general corporate / commercial advisory work).

Reporting to the Head of Legal and working in a team of 7, this position has combined responsibility of providing legal support to the business; to product and service development projects; and to interpret and advise on new and revised laws and implement/update any requisite policies/procedures.

Typically the type of work will include:

  • Advising business stakeholders on individual, corporate and trust client queries relating to the administration of client portfolios including their individual tax wrappers and the investments within them. This may involve advice in relation to:

-   pension transfers, sharing and distribution;

-   transfer of investments within and between wrappers;

-   documentation requirements for dealing with pension sharing, power of         attorney & appointment of deputies, administrators & executors;

-   distribution of assets upon death;

-   drafting, interpretation and advice on our terms & conditions;

-   advising on giving effect to FOS & FSCS decisions; and

-   reviewing requests and approving release of information to third parties         including FOS & FSCS;

  • Negotiating platform / distribution agreements for adding new products to the platform, including both regulated & unregulated funds;
  • Reviewing & negotiating third party supplier agreements (including IT & Software agreements), non-disclosure agreements, material outsourcing agreements & inter-company agreements, taking into account both legal & regulatory obligations and the Group’s risk appetite;
  • Advising on corporate & commercial legal aspects of strategic business development projects and drafting / negotiating necessary contractual terms;
  • Researching, advising on & (where appropriate) implementing legal changes affecting the business and assisting on the legal on the aspects of any consequential change to business policy & procedure;
  • Advising on the Group’s rights and obligations as a leaseholder including on-going lessee & building maintenance issues.

The legal team partners the business and relationship management is key. You will have opportunity to build internal and external relationships in a collegiate manner, be able communicate pro-actively and resolve issues; ensuring good communications with key contacts and stakeholders.

If you are interested in hearing more about this role you will need to be a 5+ PQE UK qualified solicitor or barrister with a proven track record in financial services; ideally wealth management, asset management or insurance. You should have practical knowledge, understanding and application of the UK legal and regulatory environment as it relates to the financial services industry. Individuals must have worked in house, having had experience of advising on a broad range of corporate and commercial legal issues which could include advising on pensions and private client related issues such as estate planning, trusts and taxation.
