Property Solicitor

Location: Huntingdon

Salary:   Circa £55,000 dependent on skills & experience

Permanent - Full Time

Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen to join our highly valued in-house legal team as a qualified property solicitor, at a time of change for the water industry as it begins to open its market to wider competition.

Based at our head office and reporting to our Head of Legal, you will have responsibility for a wide variety of property related matters, which may be more challenging and varied due to the nature of our statutory powers and duties.  As such, you must be willing to learn and develop a sound working knowledge of our special statutory functions.

You will also have management responsibility for 3 team members who also undertake property transaction work and candidates will be required to demonstrate appropriate leaderships skills and qualities.

Requirements

A qualified solicitor, you will ideally have at least 5 years PQE, although all candidates who can demonstrate relevant commercial property experience are encouraged to apply.  You must have strong analytical thinking and be skilled in providing well thought-out, practical advice.  You should have strong commercial acumen and sound drafting and IT skills.  Previous management experience whilst working in house is desirable although not essential.

Your relationship with internal clients and the legal team as a whole is key to being successful in this role, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You must also be prepared to embrace a wide variety of work whilst supporting and developing other team members’ skills.
