Our client is a City of London law firm with a headcount of 500 staff in offices across Europe. They specialise in many areas of law including Commercial, IP & Technology, Tax, Corporate Finance & M&A, Employment and Real Estate amongst others.

They are looking to hire a Senior Legal Cashier and Deputy Accounts Manager to assist the the Accounts team in ensuring that the Firm’s accounting complies with the appropriate standards and procedures. The role holder will undertake daily banking functions and assist the Accounts Manager in supporting, supervising and training the team.
Responsibilities
Deal with billing.
Deal with aged client balances.
Prepare cash sheets for client pooled funds in accordance with policies and regulations.
Prepare and post client receipts and payments.
Prepare and post client deposits, client to client transfers and client to office transfers.
Interest calculations.
Prepare and reconcile month end and daily bank reconciliations.
Order currency.
Purchase ledger.
Process expense claims.
Payment of online accounts invoices.
Assist with regular appraisal and development meetings with the entire team.
Review team members training plans when required.
Train and advise any new members of the team monitoring their progress with the Accounts Manager.
Regularly meet with the Manager to co-ordinate team initiatives and discuss any important department matters.
Candidate Profile
Experience of working as a Legal Cashier, covering both client and office cashiering.
Management experience is not essential, however you will need to demonstrate experience of training and mentoring in a previous role.
Up to date knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
Ability to work well within a team.
Proactive and hardworking.
Ability to build relationships and work with people of all levels of seniority.
