The tax practice advises UK and international clients in relation to the taxation of business and investment activities.

The practice advises on the full range of corporate, finance, real estate, and investment fund taxation issues and has leading specialists in transfer pricing, VAT and tax disputes.

The tax disputes practice is an integrated part of the wider tax practice and also works closely with the public law and general disputes practices.

100 per cent client-facing, it operates across all taxes, and takes full tax-technical, strategic, and management responsibility for all its projects.

It offers clients wide-ranging tax competence, as well as detailed knowledge of HMRC powers and responsibilities, the relevant law of evidence and procedure, the practice of dealing with HMRC and the Tribunals, and tax statutory interpretation.

ABOUT YOU

A first rate tax lawyer, ideally you will have gained tax litigation experience within a top tier firm.

It is essential that the candidate has a strong academic background (minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent standard) with excellent written communication and drafting skills.

The successful candidate will also have outstanding technical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team.

The ideal candidate will have 3pqe or more (or equivalent experience) including contentious experience, or clear motivation to develop expertise in contentious tax work.
