Locum Childcare Paralegal

An excellent opportunity for two Childcare Paralegals to join a Local Authority in the Northern Home Counties.

This position is offered on a full-time locum basis with a predicted contract length of at least 3 months with a strong likelihood of extension.

The ideal candidate will be highly efficient and be able to organise and prioritise their time effectively, working with little supervision.

Experience of working in a Local Authority would be advantageous, however it is not necessary. Candidates should be able to demonstrate practical experience in childcare or family matters and a strong interest in Local Authority law.

The daily duties will include but are not limited to:

• Successfully handling a case load of s7 & s37 cases
• Preparing legal documents for County Court including applications for care or supervision orders and emergency protection orders
• Assisting with Care and Adoption applications and preparing court bundles
• Collating evidence for court and take witness statements ahead of final Hearings
• Corresponding with Social Workers, experts and other parties
