Our client, an international law firm, is looking for a Co-ordinator to join their Learning and Development team.
The Learning and Development department provide business skills, personal and management development courses/programmes which are available to partners, associates, business services staff and secretaries globally. These are delivered by our in-house learning and development team to help meet the strategic objectives. The training is designed and delivered based on acknowledged best practice and the latest thinking in management, leadership, business development and personal effectiveness as well as blending knowledge and understanding of the practice culture, values and procedures to provide training that is relevant to the work undertaken in the practice.
The team also provides open courses, coaching and customised sessions to individuals, teams and groups. A variety of teaching and learning methods including presentations, case studies, role plays and video and forum theatre are used to ensure that peoples’ different learning styles are catered for. We also provide training to the clients of the practice.
The Role
- Allocation of programmes up to and including partner level on a rota system with view of managing each for a minimum of 18 months at a time.
- Ad-hoc management of bespoke events requiring L&D Co-ordination support
- To become and act as expert for those to programmes you are responsible for.
- To proactively offer support and guidance to co-ordinators globally on a general basis, but more specifically in regards to programmes/regions you are responsible for.
- Completing course administration in most cases from start to finish including booking rooms, managing delegate bookings, producing course materials (on occasion) and arranging internal and external speakers.
- Become expert on global CPD regulations to advise lawyers of their requirements.
- Produce ad-hoc budget estimates for departmental budget monitoring and assist with annual budget review process.
- Liaise with departmental contacts to plan dates for IBG awaydays.
- Manage communication with travel agent, process hotel invoices for our programmes and discuss queries with hotels and/or travel agent as well as checking and monitoring for any inconsistencies.
- Use of Cornerstone to record training courses, delegate bookings, course attendance, CPD activities and running reports as necessary.
