My client is a growing international law firm specializing in litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance and liability areas. They have offices spanning the globe and over 1000 employees, with headquarters in London and several other offices in the UK.
They are now looking to hire a Legal Cashier to join their Chemlsford office and work on a residual balance project.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Compliance team, Fee Earners and Partners to clear residual client account balances.
Ensuring that adequate records are kept.
Liaising with the SRA on Accounts Rules queries. Preparation of papers for appropriate submission.
Regular reconciliations the firm’s accounts, working with Cashiering Manager and Assistant Cashiering Managers to resolve issues promptly and record any breaches where necessary.
Assist with the review of processes and procedures in relation to statutory compliance and to make recommendations.
Assist with SRA AR monthly reporting requirements.
Deliver an effective and timely service to the firm by managing their workload and maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have full knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules.
Previous experience within a Legal Finance department.
Excellent analytical and financial skills with good attention to detail and demonstrable experience of reviewing and reconciling residual client account balances.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills will be necessary.
Must possess excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel and have excellent attention to detail. Being able to prioritise own workload and achieve deadlines is required.
