Locum Legal Officer
An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant at a Local Authority in Lincolnshire. The successful applicant will be tasked with assisting the Council's Monitoring Officer, working 3 days per week and providing support to the Legal Services Team. This role is expected to be for an initial 3 month period with a high possibility of extension.
Desirable attributes the successful candidate will have includes the following:
- Experience of member code of conduct and/or investigating member complaints
- General legal experience and the ability to read legislation, case law and being able to interpret what standing order may mean
- Knowledge of local government law and decision making
- Any negotiating or mediation experience
The key to this position is having ‘initiative' and being able to pick things up quickly. Therefore, someone with a strong legal background in Local Government with good communication and people skills will also be considered.
