Commercial Solicitor - Surrey
Associate/Senior Associate Commercial Solicitor 5 years PQE+ Crawley £65k - £70k plus benefits
Our client is a strong Legal 500/Chamber Ranked firm based in the regions. The firm are now looking to add to its Commercial Department with an Associate/Senior Associate. To work as part of a team which provides professional client services covering the full range of commercial law services. Our domestic and international clients range from listed companies to substantial private companies to SMEs, partnerships and sole traders operating in a variety of sectors, including technology, electronics, aviation, financial and manufacturing.
You will advise on a broad range of commercial matters including:
Commercial agreements (including agency and distribution, franchising, sale and supply of goods and services, sponsorship, promotion and marketing) Outsourcing and procurement Technology and e-commerce (including software licensing, cloud services and online terms and conditions) Data protection Intellectual property and brand protection (including copyright, trademarks, brand exploitation and IP contracts) Competition law Support and contribute to departmental and firm wide business development and marketing, initiatives, activities and events Assist in the preparation of seminars and workshops Presenting at seminars Write articles and contribute to other commercial collateral Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Good understanding of IT and IP, ideally with common technologies and technology contracts Solicitor with 5+years PQE experience gained in a law firm that is recognised for its Commercial work in Chambers and/or Legal 500, or in-house Experience of managing relationships with key clients on a day to day basis A good network of contacts in the local and/or national market and/or a track record of business development would be beneficial. Proven track record of effectively delegating work to other members of a team and supervising the work effectively Ability to demonstrate proactively leading business development initiatives Experience of public procurement desired but not essential Ability to demonstrate experience in areas of work listed above Excellent oral and written skills, a second language would be desirable Ability to work under pressure, and manage own caseload with minimum supervision
