My client, a top tier law firm based in the city, are looking for an assistant knowledge manager  / information assistant to work in their busy team.

Applicants must have a relevant degree e.g Information Management

Sitting within the Knowledge Management team, you will be primarily responsible for helping to deliver the Firm's knowledge management solutions globally, supporting all practice groups and offices, through collection and indexing of experience information. You would be working closely with attorneys and Practice Group support staff to enable the collection and classification of the Firm's knowledge for the experience management system (GEM). You will be working on project teams as required supporting the implementation of Knowledge Management projects and other services, with particular concern for information input. With responsibility for closing sets day to day and tasks associated with historical closing sets and precedent document collection, this is a busy role for anyone who is seeking a challenge and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the GEM team and Practice Groups globally to index experience data in GEM
  • Use GEM to run regular reports to collect information on experience
  • Maintain the integrity of GEM data through regular data clean-up activities in collaboration with other groups such as Conflicts and FSD
  • Support the Knowledge Management team in the gathering, indexing and inputting for other knowledge collections as required
  • Support the delivery of the closing sets solution by ensuring closing sets are indexed and classified to an agreed standard
  • Monitor and track the closing set inbox; communicate with end-users of closing sets

Additional information

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working in the legal sector or in a Knowledge/Information management role (desirable)
  • Good understanding of databases and classification principles
  • Experience of creating and managing closing sets/e-bibles
  • Excellent communicator, able to work with people of varying levels of seniority and technical experience
  • Well organised with good administration and project management skills
