A law firm in Leicestershire are looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Litigation Solicitor.
Client Details
A regional full service Leicestershire law firm.
Description
This is in opportunity for a Senior Commercial Litigation Solicitor to move to a small but growing Leicestershire law firm and ultimately assume the mantle of Head of Department.
This is an exciting time to join the firm - there have been a lot of positive changes recently and the firm is having a strong push to grow the commercial arm of their business.
The firm see this piece of recruitment as an extremely important strategic hire. So rather than focus on the magic client following that a lot firms will demand for senior recruitment, the firm are instead focusing on finding the right person who will fit into the firm and can come armed with ideas to help grow the long term future of the department. Of course, if you have connections and clients in the local area then this will benefit your growth plans for your new team.
The firm is small so you won't be in a organisation that works long hours or has a corporate culture. A lot of the staff work flexible hours and they have a culture which encourages this. As such, they are happy to look at solicitors who would like to work on a par time basis.
So what does the team look like at the moment and where would you fit in?
The team is relatively small with a handful of solicitors and fee-earners. Ideally you would be able to step in and help with the supervision and development of lawyers. So if you have any past experience of this then that would be beneficial.
You would be coming in as the senior solicitor (not necessarily as a Partner at this stage - but open to discussion) so this would be your team and your plan. There wouldn't be a ceiling for growth. You'd also get the benefit of working for a smaller firm in terms of career progression: they will be very open with you about what you need to achieve without all of the red tape that's normally needed for progression at larger firms.
Their clients are mixed and they act for individuals and commercial clients. There is an existing caseload that you could pick up. The plan would be for you to also help with growing this - ideally on the commercial side of things rather than private client. The firm will back you in terms of any initiatives that you want to run for business development / marketing purposes.
If you are at a crossroads with your current progression plans or perhaps looking to move to a more autonomous role, this could be a great opportunity for you. Get in touch for a confidential discussion.
Profile
Ideally you will have at least 5 years' experience advising on a range of litigation matters (from commercial contracts disputes through to housing litigation). Our client will consider candidates with a range of experience.
As this is an important long term appointment, the firm are particularly interested in people with a flair for business development and who can come to the table with ideas to help grow their team.
This opportunity could suit solicitors who are currently at a range of firms - either at a similarly regional firm looking but looking for more progression or at a larger firm looking for a more autonomous role.
Job Offer
Competitive depending on experience.
