Legal Cashier (Maternity Cover Contract)

Our Client is a full service commercial law firm based in London’s legal district.  They have more than 60 partners and over 300 employees.
The Finance department is made up of a central management team, Cashiers, Billing and Credit Control teams. 
The Cashiers team work closely with the fee-earning departments to ensure all aspects of client and office accounts are carried out effectively.

They are looking for a Legal Cashier to join them on a fixed term contract of 12-14 months. 

Responsibilities

Production of client and office account cheques

Banking of client and office account cheques

Posting and checking recharges

Processing disbursements

Reconcile and post Counsel and Expert fees

Preparing and processing foreign payments

Write off disbursements

Petty cash postings and reconciliation

Amendment to clients and matters, in line with anti-money laundering regulations

Banking (client and office), including initiating BACS and CHAPS payments and posting receipts

Posting transfers between the client & office bank accounts

Client Interest calculations

Bank account reconciliations 

Expense claims

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have extensive cashiering experience gained within a law firm 

In-depth working knowledge of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules 

Understanding of VAT recovery processes

Ability to manage your own time and deal with queries efficiently and promptly

Ability to build relationships with partners and key stakeholders 

Flexible nature and willingness to take on additional duties
