Family Legal Secretary

Our client an established Law firm are looking to recruit a Legal Secretary to join their Family department in Preston.
The firm offers a quality service to all their clients and in the Family Department provide as much support as possible to what is a challenging and emotional time for families.
The family team is trained to guide clients through every situation affecting the family from separation, divorce and mediation to childcare, contact, domestic violence and civil partnership.
Reporting to the Head of Department the role will include but not be exclusive to:
The Role
Providing a high level of secretarial support to the Solicitor and Fee Earners within the Family team.
Audio and Copy typing legal documentation
Preparing of Court documents including Court Bundles for Solicitors and Counsel
Working under pressure to meet strict deadlines
Extensive client liaison - Dealing with general queries via the telephone, taking accurate telephone messages and where possible acting thereon
Diary management - ensure all appointments are diarised and no dates and deadlines or tasks are not missed by the Solicitor
Liaising with and updating clients, third parties and lawyers in order to actively progress the matter
Dealing with a range of administrative tasks in a proactive manner
Proof-reading all documentation
Working as part of a busy and successful team
General administrative duties

The Candidate
In order to be considered for this role candidates will:
Have a proven background in Family Law preferably as a Legal Secretary
You will be a committed team player with excellent communication and organisation skills
Be proficient and accurate in audio and copy typing
Have experience of working with a case management system
