We are seeking a Team Co-ordinator within our International & Groups Claim Department. The Team Coordinator provides secretarial and some paralegal support to a partner and team of solicitors.

Leigh Day is a specialist law firm operating across international, product liability, personal injury, human rights, clinical negligence, employment and discrimination. Over the last twenty five years the International & Group Claims Department have been involved in ground-breaking cases against multinational corporations and government authorities and bodies for human rights abuses. This role will assist with multi-party actions involving the claims of foreign nationals against British companies, including claims relating to modern slavery, and claims arising from impacts of the extractive industries and the agricultural sector. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the administrative non-legal work of the team in general and of the team’s partner specifically, as well as drafting letters on instruction and some paralegal activities. You will be responsible for organising the team’s complicated electronic and paper case files, preparing bundles of documents for court, overseeing the diaries of team members, drafting documents, analysing documents, liaising with others both within and external to the firm, and generally providing organisational and administrative support. You will be responsible for making international travel arrangements for the team, including obtaining visas, arranging flights, assisting team members with security protocols, and providing general support to colleagues who regularly travel.

The ideal candidate will be committed to organising a busy legal team and have the potential to do paralegal work. Previous experience in a busy legal practice, including dealing with legal aid cases, would be desirable. The successful candidate will be conscientious and extremely well organised with excellent IT skills. Excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills are essential. We are looking for a hard-working and proactive individual who is able to use their initiative.
