This global client specialising in software solutions, based in the East Midlands is looking for an experienced in-house legal counsel to assist them on a locum basis.
Location: East Midlands
Start date: ASAP (October 2017)
Duration: 3-6 months +
Day rate: Negotiable

Client Details
We are looking to recruit an individual with ~ 2-4 year PQE working in house in a similar role preferably with some previous experience within the technology industry.
Working on a temporary contract, you will be part of the EMEA legal team, reporting to the Director of Legal & Assistant General Counsel this role will support the UK and Spanish businesses and their sales executives and managers so prior experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements is essential.
Description
- 2-4 years PQE working in house OR educated to degree level with post graduate diploma in legal practice and minimum 3 years' experience working in house
- Knowledge and experience of working in the software industry with intellectual property/information technology and data privacy matters
- Review, translate, draft and negotiate legal contracts (eg master solution agreements, SaaS agreements, software licenses, professional services agreements, distribution agreements and NDAs) based on internal templates in English and Spanish languages for English and Spanish deals.
- Perform contract analysis and ensure contracts are drafted in accordance with internal policies and rules.
- Support and advise the sales team and professional services teams during the negotiation of the contract(s). This activity may include occasional meetings with customers with the goal of obtaining best contractual conditions.
- Assist the Director of Legal & Assistant General Counsel with respect to data privacy matters within EMEA.
- Assist with legal contract administration for EMEA in accordance with processes.
Profile
- Knowledge and experience of working in the software industry with intellectual property/information technology and data privacy matters
- Good computer office applications skills -Microsoft word, excel, etc. and able to quickly learn how to use in house applications and systems.
- Excellent communicator, personable and a team player
- Flexible, hard working, committed and self motivated
- Attention to detail
- Fluency in Spanish and English are essential.
- Fluency in French is an advantage but not a requirement.
