My client is a high regarded local authority based in Hertfordshire. They offer advice across a broad range of disciplines where they have a strong reputation in their specialisms. Their ethos is to provide a client focused, friendly and approachable service.

The successful candidates main objective is to ensure the smooth running of Legal Services by contributing to the management of the Group and working closely with the two other Principal Lawyers Childcare Litigation and the Principal Lawyer Adults, Children and Education.

Required Experience:
* Previous experience within a similar position
* Highly confident within Childcare law
* Recognised legal qualification as a solicitor, barrister or lawyer

The purpose of this position is for you to provide legal advice and undertake casework for client departments ensuring that decisions made are within legal boundaries and achieve their aims and objectives to accord with Council policy. This will also include representing the Council at inquiries, hearings, tribunals, courts, panels and other bodies.

Your duties will include assisting and supervising the trainee solicitors whilst they are working within the Childcare Litigation Teams, appropriately allocated, make sure team are running efficiently and effectively, advise on adoption and fostering processes.
