In house construction solicitor

Our client is an AIM listed business with a significant turnover, an established legal team, and interests in several construction and engineering sectors, significantly so within infrastructure support. The business is busy, and is looking to hire an additional in house construction lawyer to the extensive team.

It's a broad ranging legal role where your construction experience is vital, and you will need commercial 'nous' to compliment that. You will need detailed knowledge and experience in construction law, both in contentious and non-contentious matters. You will be adept in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of construction and commercial agreements and will have excellent knowledge of key standard forms, including JCT, NEC, FIDIC and ACA.

Alongside these strong technical legal abilities, you'll need exceptional communication skills, as you'll be interacting with senior members of the business on a daily basis. Your experience level is less important than your ability to do a good job. This will most likely gained from either a respected private practice firm with a strong construction department or you could also come from an in-house background. In every case, you will have strong academics and high quality, relevant experience. If you are enthusiastic and committed to an in house career you could thrive in this responsible role, and enjoy a close and rewarding relationship with your business colleagues.

Though you'll probably need as a minimum a couple of years PQE, if you are significantly more experienced and looking to move in house I encourage you to get in touch. The salary and package will be very competitive and commensurate with experience.

Some travel will be required but the role is to be based in offices within easy commute of Leeds, and other Yorkshire urban areas, this is an exceptional opportunity for a construction lawyer to join a high calibre in house team, and take on an interesting and diverse in house construction role.
