JOB TITLE: Court of Protection Legal Assistant - Kent

PQE REQUIRED: 12 Months + Experience

LOCATION: Kent (Commutable from, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Maidstone)

SALARY: £Competitive Salary

 

THE ROLE:

You will be responsible in providing support to the Court of Protection team in, Financial and accounting management of deputyship cases, preparation of annual deputyship accounts/reports, preparation of files for annual billing and liaising with costs draftsman, monitoring, managing and claiming welfare benefits and drafting and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney. Knowledge of the processes and procedures associated with Court of Protection work, including the Mental Capacity Act, Code of Practice, Court of Protection Rules and Practice Directions is essential.

 

THE CANDIDATE:

Applications are sought from Legal Assistants with a minimum of 12 Months court of protection experience. The successful Court of Protection Legal Assistant will have a real interest in legal matters and understanding of the need for confidentiality. You will also have good interpersonal and client relationship skills with the ability to manage and deliver client and practice expectations. With the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, planning time and priorities, you will also have a caring and understanding attitude.
