The purpose of the role is to provide expert legal counsel to the Bank's business globally, including on areas covered by the Services team such as:

-Financial services matters such as discretionary management, investment advice and financial planning, custody, dealing in securities.

-UCITS and non-UCITS funds including alternative funds in terms of structuring and executing new fund products and maintaining existing fund products and distribution arrangements.

The Financial Services Lawyer will provide expert and timely legal advice in relation to law and regulation of investment services and investment funds

Assist in the development, maintenance, change and closure of investment services and of new fund products on the alternatives and UCITS platforms globally, responding to commercial, legal and regulatory need

Assist in connection with commercial/contractual matters relating to the Bank's funds and investment services business, including negotiation of custody, management, distribution, administration related activities


A Financial Services Lawyer qualified in the UK or equivalent commonwealth jurisdiction, with experience of working in a top law firm and/or in-house with a top financial services organisation;

Proven technical expertise in financial markets and regulation with the ability to work across a broad set of products and sensitivity to the issues presented by a retail-facing business;

Ability to work across a broad set of products and a willingness to broaden product knowledge;

Contributes to technical developments in their coverage area;
