A unique opportunity for a commercial litigation and personal injury lawyer to join a multinational organisation as a Senior Underwriter.
This is a busy role where you will act as an integral member of the business, and in close collaboration with the Director of the team. Your duties will involve handling a diverse range of matters, including:
- Managing a portfolio of existing commercial risks
- Risk assessing complex (personal injury and commercial litigation) cases, providing quotes and insurance policies where appropriate
- Handling some administrative duties in relation to claims such as signing-off claims bacs runs, cheque requests and refunds
- Delivering training to the team on legal issues and the impact of legislation and policies
- Managing the relationship with outside counsel and third parties
- Stepping in to manage the team when the Director is not around
- Undertaking occasional audits and reviews of member firms
- Attending nationwide external exhibitions and sales meetings when required.
This role would suit a qualified commercial litigation lawyer who has at least 5 years' PQE, prior line-management experience, and who is eager to make the move into an in-house role.
Although much of the work is personal injury-based, experience of commercial litigation and the insurance industry is essential.
