Senior In House Legal Counsel - Global Energy Business – Denmark
Our client, a well-known global energy business with over 180 000 staff operating in thriving and expanding markets, is looking for an experienced legal counsel whose role will be part of the Global Legal Department.
Your Responsibilities
As Senior Legal Counsel your overall responsibility will be to support the Nordic/Baltic zone in local business related activities. You will provide counsel and support within a range of legal areas such as commercial contract law, procurement law, labour law and compliance (M & A, intellectual property law, corporate secretarial, insurance law and tax law will not be part of the responsibilities of the position).
More specifically, you will:
Prepare and review tenders and contracts (sales and purchasing).
Support negotiations.
Assist in pre-litigation / claims, local real estate matters and employment issues.
Help to ensure compliance and to manage risk in accordance with applicable legal requirements and Group policies.
Provide reasonable assistance to other members of the GLD as requested by the Legal Management.
Your Experience and Personal Qualifications
In order to take on this position you should be a fully qualified lawyer authorized to practice law in Denmark having a Bachelor of Laws degree or higher with over 6 years of relevant experience, ideally in an in-house environment. We expect that you have a solid experience in reviewing and preparing agreements and independently performing negotiations. Additionally experience with construction law, including AB92/ABT93, is a strong advantage.
You are highly respected in your field and known as a person with high integrity. You have strong collaboration skills and easily form relations in a multicultural environment. You are structured and meticulous and enjoy working in a high pace without compromising on the level of detail and quality. Furthermore you are able to handle complex legal issues in a pragmatic and solution-oriented manner.
You will work in an international setting and will be communicating in Danish and English (Swedish would be an advantage).
