Our client is a leading purchaser of outsourced IT solutions (valued at 100's of £million) they are now looking to recruit a passionate ICT lawyer to join their in-house legal team and provide expert guidance and legal advice across their commercial activities. This role will be responsible for providing legal support and assistance across the full life cycle of commercial contract management, from procurement to contract exit. The senior lawyer will ensure that contracts let by the business support the best interests of the wider organisation. The role requires a proactive approach and strong leadership skills as a Legal SME along with significant post qualification experience as a solicitor in a relevant area of procurement practice (4 - 7 years PQE*). The lawyer will become a member of the commercial department Legal Team and will work closely with colleagues across the commercial team, as well as help manage external legal services and relationships. This team are in an exciting growth cycle and this post holder will help shape the expansion of the team going forward. Core duties will be to advise on high value, highly complex, detailed, contentious and non-contentious contractual issues both with suppliers and internal stakeholders, requiring excellent communication skills, high levels of persuasion and negotiation skills, diplomacy and legal knowledge. Providing professional legal advice across the business on IG, IPR and Data Protection issues and agreements. As a result, the client is looking to meet lawyers with sound understanding of English law including public sector administration, procurement, ICT commercial, intellectual property, data protection and TUPE employment law as it relates to service agreements, with experience of drafting and negotiating long term service arrangements and cutting edge technology contracts. In addition, significant experience of providing procurement and contract management legal advice in regards to complex programmes of work are essential. Individuals should possess significant post qualification ICT experience gained within either private practice or within a leading public sector procurement team.
