Our client is a growing international law firm specializing in litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance and liability areas. They have offices spanning the globe and over 1000 employees, with headquarters in London and several other offices in the UK.

They are now looking to hire a fully-qualified Accountant on a temporary basis, to support the reporting function of the Firm. 

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of management information and analysis, as well as other statutory and regulatory reporting

Design of procedures and processes for effective and timely reporting across the group

Assist in meeting the requirements of the annual statutory audits including the preparation of statutory accounts and group consolidation

Assist in meeting the requirements of other regulatory and statistical reporting requirements that fall due such as VAT, PAYE, Banking Covenants 

Collation of information and production of management information, including monthly reporting packs comprising Income statement and Balance sheet

Reconciling the intercompany balances on a monthly basis and creating a reporting and review process for such balances

The creation and ongoing maintenance of a fixed asset register

Supporting the planning and budgeting process

To maintain the high standard of service offered to the firm’s existing clients and to assist in creating and developing the professional reputation of the unit and the Firm.

To operate the Firm’s quality procedures and information security systems as specified in the Firm’s Quality Procedures.

To ensure confidentiality and security of all practice and client’s documentation and all information.

Candidate Profile

Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent, with proven experience working with legal services 

Worked with foreign exchange transactions

Flexible attitude towards working practices and ability to adapt style as required

Self-motivated and enthusiastic

Knowledge of macro’s and pivot tables

Experience of large group consolidations
