My client is a world leading Big Data/Cloud Technology Business who requires an experienced Environmental IT (EU) Lawyer with thorough knowledge of Product directives. The successful candidate will work directly with supply chain, procurement, and engineering and product functions to support the global procurement, manufacture, transportation and distribution of data center equipment, and the global provision of online and cloud technology services.
The Role
You will provide day-to-day advice on regulations i.e. RoHS 1 directive, WEEE directive and Low Voltage Directive concerning the design, development, manufacture, operation, procurement, distribution and disposition of data center equipment, and provision of web services, as well as advice on environmental issues associated with the operation of data centers globally. As part of your role, you will monitor and advise the business of upcoming regulatory changes and ensure to implement applicable regulatory compliance policies and processes. You will maintain these regulations and provide compliance-related legal support for all commercial transactions, and pre-litigation legal disputes.
The Candidate
You will report to the Head of Environment Law and work amongst a team of 5 lawyers, who all have a global focus in Global trade compliance and Environmental IT Law. The successful candidate must have trained with a leading International Law Firm having at least 4 years practice experienced gained within Hardware and Product Directives with knowledge of the RoHS 1 directive, WEEE directive and Low Voltage Directive.
Uniquely, you can either work in their Head Office in Seattle or work from London (on the premise that you will travel to the US occasionally). Considering this is a very niche specialism the successful candidate will be entitled to an excellent salary and benefits package.
