<p>HR Business Partner</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to work collaboratively with the business to help them build, engage and nurture talented teams to achieve the firm’s strategic goals.&nbsp; The successful candidate will join a forward looking firm which places its people agenda at the heart of its business.&nbsp;</p> <p>Through proactively identifying the organisational and people priorities, and taking a client and solution focused approach, you will have the platform to deliver best practice, and commercial HR solutions, and truly establish yourself as a trusted advisor within the business.</p> <p>This role will form part of a progressive, forward thinking HR team, the role reports to the HR Director.&nbsp;</p> <p>In particular, the role will include:</p> <p><strong>HR&amp;D strategy implementation &amp; Strategic Projects</strong></p> <ul> <li>To provide strategic input into the Firm's strategy and to assist with or lead on initiatives that deliver the HR pillars of the Firms' strategy</li> <li>To lead on a number of strategic HR projects</li> <li>To partner and work with senior partners on strategic initiatives and implementation of strategic priorities&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>HR Business Partnering</strong></p> <p>To act as the strategic HR business partner to the assigned internal clients, establishing strong working relationships with partners and staff alike.&nbsp; Activities for each client group to include:</p> <ul> <li>Assist client groups in delivering against the office and their department strategy</li> <li>Developing and delivering an annual HR plan, aimed at driving employee engagement, a higher performance culture and ensuring best practice HR solutions in support of the delivery of the client group’s business plan</li> <li>Clarifying the resource requirements of client groups and engaging the Recruitment and Graduate recruitment teams to deliver against these needs</li> <li>Providing trusted one to one guidance to partners on HR matters</li> <li>Advising on HR policy, and using commercially sound judgement to make or recommend appropriate decisions</li> <li>Ensuring the delivery of outstanding operational service through the HR Officers and HR Admin team</li> <li>Diagnosing and analysing team and individual development needs, engaging L&amp;D to put in place appropriate OD and L&amp;D solutions&nbsp;</li> <li>Building relationships across all levels of staff and being seen as the ‘go to’ person for HR matters</li> <li>Contribute to the effective onboarding and integration of new employees within client groups</li> <li>Provide leadership of the assigned client groups with regular reports using HR analytics, external benchmarking information and internal finance reporting and other MI, and advise on trends and potential actions / solutions based on sound interrogation of the data</li> <li>Support client group heads and partners through the annual HR cycle, including the coordination of performance reviews, salary and bonus reviews and promotions at all levels</li> <li>To look proactively for opportunities to improve internal processes/service and work with the appropriate people to implement these changes, ensuring knowledge is captured on behalf of the firm</li> </ul> <p><strong>Talent &amp; Performance Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Owning the talent review process which focuses on succession planning, retention plans, development plans for hi-potential/rising stars</li> <li>Support and advise senior lawyers identified as future partner pipeline towards their career development goals</li> <li>Identify themes from 360 feedback questionnaires, exit interviews, new joiner catch ups and other feedback mechanisms and suggest initiatives which support engagement, increased performance and retention of talent</li> <li>Provide advice on performance management issues to partners, associates, other fee earners, secretaries and support staff</li> <li>Manage the firm-wide appraisal processes within each client group and provide advice and coaching on the process</li> </ul> <p><strong>Employee Relations</strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for managing complex Employee Relations issues, including dealing with compromise agreements, managing disciplinary and grievance processes and coaching partners/line managers in relation to difficult ER issues</li> <li>Provide general advice on HR policies such as maternity leave, grievance and disciplinary procedures, flexible working requests, diversity and data protection, and coaching HR Officers to do so too</li> </ul> <p><strong>Team</strong></p> <ul> <li>Acting as a role model for the HR team, leading the evolution to true strategic partnering rather than generalist advisory</li> <li>Build team capability, irrespective of direct line management</li> <li>To coach, mentor and motivate the HR Officers giving regular feedback and feeding into formal performance reviews</li> </ul> <p><u><strong>Role Requirements</strong></u></p> <ul> <li>As the role will partner a credible, intelligent client group, candidates with experience of partnering challenging client groups and partners are preferred. Experience from a financial services/ professional services/ corporate private sector organisation is highly desirable</li> <li>A true commercial and pragmatic hands-on approach, fully immersed within client groups eg 'has their finger on the pulse'</li> <li>Strategic thinker and with a commercial understanding and ability to translate business goals into HR priorities</li> <li>The passion to drive through the people strategy</li> <li>Strong diagnosis and analysis skills and ability to exercise good judgment</li> <li>The confidence and ability&nbsp; to interrogate data, draw conclusions and make sound recommendations which will assist the business in meeting its people and business priorities</li> <li>Confident, calm and credible with excellent communication and building relationship skills</li> <li>Ability to connect and engage with people at all levels both internally and externally. Bringing external practices to bear on the plans for the organisation</li> <li>Strong influencing skills and with the gravitas to command professional respect at all levels</li> <li>A flexible approach to adapt the role to meet current and future business needs</li> <li>Strong client relationships skills with the ability to manage the diversity of multiple leader relationships and serve their needs without compromising service levels</li> <li>Ability to build rapport at all levels</li> <li>In-depth working knowledge and understanding of HR legislation, principles, policies and procedures</li> <li>Ability to develop solutions to a wide range of highly complex problems, requiring creativity and innovation</li> <li>A motivator and developer of people</li> <li>Collaborative approach, effectively working with others to achieve team success</li> <li>Respects and enjoys the diversity of cultural, social and academic backgrounds found in the Firm</li> </ul>
