Senior Commercial Lawyer

Working on behalf of a non-departmental public body, we are looking for a senior commercial lawyer to join them on a permanent basis. The organisation funds projects that make a real difference to individuals and communities in the UK.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to line manage other legal staff.

The successful candidate will draft negotiate and advise on partnership, funding, and collaboration agreements with a range of partners including Government, public bodies and charities.

The role will be varied and interesting, as well as the general commercial work the post holder will be involved in a range of issues including public law, state aid, charity law, data protection, freedom of information and intellectual property. 

Applicants can be from either an in-house or private practice background, but will have solid knowledge of commercial law and have good contract drafting and negotiating skills.

It is crucial that candidates have the appropriate soft skills to engage with the business, the ability to offer pragmatic legal advice, and have the confidence to make sound decisions.
