Job Description

The purpose of the role is to provide support the Legal and Business Affairs Department across the full range of their activities. The full time permanent post is based at Pact’s offices in London between the hours of 9.30 – 6.00pm. This varied role provides an opportunity to work across a range of subjects whilst supporting a friendly team of individuals in an interesting industry.

Management and Reporting

The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will support all members of the Legal and Business Affairs department, and the role will be managed by the Deputy Chief Executive.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Excellent IT skills and competence of MS Office.

Experience of:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar or relevant role preferred.
  • Proven experience of legal research would also be advantageous.
  • Proven ability of multitasking and ability to prioritise tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with updating the Pact database of contracts and guidance notes and supporting the department in the creation and development of new contracts.
  • Assisting the Legal and Business Affairs department in their research into legislation and consultations which affect the production industry, particularly in respect of employment and copyright law.
  • Assisting in the arrangement of legal events and surgeries when required.
  • Assisting in the arrangement of internal/external meetings for all members of the department, including negotiation and working group meetings, and attending meetings to take minutes where required.
  • Assisting with the administration of the exceptional talent immigration route.
  • Assisting with the administration of Cinema Levy and Escrows.
  • Assisting all members of the department in the preparation of written documents, such as member communications and responses to consultations, where required.
  • Liaising closely with the Comms executive where appropriate.
  • Other duties that the company or department may require from time to time.
