Our client, a leading international law firm, is looking for a Graduate Recruitment & Development Officer to join their Graduate Recruitment and Development team. 

 The role is part time (working 3 days a week) fixed term (to cover maternity leave).

In particular the role will include:

Spring, Summer and International Placement Schemes

  • Responsitbility for the smooth running of these programmes with assistance from the GR intern.
  • Lead point of contact both for candidates and within the business.
  • Design of all schemes and overall responsibility of effective delivery and return on investment.
  • Reviewing on-line application forms in conjunction with other officers.
  • Advertising and marketing of the programme to ensure maximum publicity.
  • Ensuring the administrative elements of the programme are delivered by them.
  • Oversee the programme of training and social events.
  • Overseeing the seat allocation process, with support from the GR Intern.
  • Overseeing trainee mentor allocation and briefing with support from the GR Intern.
  • Overseeing the feedback and debrief sessions with support from the GR Intern.
  • Budget tracking.
  • Produce an end of scheme report for the GRDM in a timely manner.

Recruitment Advertising

  • To act as point of contact for all external contacts.
  • Oversee advertising strategy for Graduate Recruitment.
  • To review all new requests for advertising and make recommendations to the GRDM and Head of Recruitment.
  • Co-ordinate the placement of adverts and articles within publications, liaising with Marketing Department when necessary.
  • Negotiate competitive advertising rates.
  • Manage the advertising spend and maintain the costings spreadsheet.
  • Award submissions.

Online Media

  • Liaising with the Marketing and Communications Team as appropriate to propose a strategy for online advertising and social media (to include costings).
  • Implement and maintain the Firm's Graduate Recruitment social media presence.
  • Ensure full and comprehensive use of online advertising opportunities.
  • Monitor the success of online advertising.
  • Ensure the Firm's Graduate Recruitment website is updated whenever required.
  • Supervision of the GR intern to successfully implement and run the Future Trainee Facebook page.

Campus Management and Sponsorship

  • In the role of Campus Lead, you’ll have overall responsibility for the campus strategy across the Firm's key target universities (overseen by the GRDM).
  • Creating a formalised template for team campus plan.
  • Providing guidance around content of campus plans to ensure consistency.
  • Responsibility for promotional items and merchandise.
  • Overall responsibility for the Brand  Ambassador programme, including and managing the ambassadors in conjunction with an external agency.
  • Responsibility for the campus social media strategy.
  • Managing the data collection and ROI project.
  • Budget tracking and reporting.
  • Responsible for campus liaison at the following target universities, to include writing, and following, a structured business plan for each university, focussing on law and non-law recruitment.
  • Relationship building with key contacts at Careers Services, within student bodies and law faculties.
  • Attendance at relevant marketing events, including law fairs and autumn presentations.
  • Management of the budget for each university.
  • Liaise with careers services to book milkround presentation dates.
  • Oversee GR Intern to book and manage correspondence with venues.
  • Oversee GR  Intern to coordinate event staffing.
  • Oversee GR Intern to arrange transport and accommodation where required.

First Year Insight Scheme

Responsibility for the strategy/content of the First Year Insight programme supported by the GR Intern.

Trainee Development

To support trainee development processes when necessary and assist with trainee matters as required.

Other Responsibilities

  • Supporting the GRDM with the Graduate Recruitment marketing campaign.
  • To attend ad-hoc events and presentations, as necessary.
  • Ad-hoc project work, as required.
  • Oversee responses to generic Graduate Recruitment inbox (administered by GRD Co-ordinator and GR Intern).

Candidate Management

  • To assist with application screening and group assessments as required.
  • Responsible for screening applications, reviewing video interviews and acting as a Group Assessor.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience of a similar role - ideally within a Professional Services environment although this is not a prerequisite.
  • A flexible approach to meet current and future business needs.
  • A good knowledge of relevant IT systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand the Firm’s HR policies and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and arrange own activities to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to build rapport at all levels.
  • Collaborative, effectively working with others to achieve team success.
